Fun family....

Photobooth picture time....even luke smiled!

Thankful Sunday

1. Being NOT sick! It is so nice to have everyone back to good health.
2. Good nights of sleep.
3. Libraries, so many books to rent for free, movies too. We take Allie over to a story time/craft time for preschoolers, it is fabulous! One of the most redeeming qualities of the Western NY area.
4. George Washington, I have been reading a biography of his, he was an amazing man. It is neat to read about him now that I have been to his house and see the areas he lived in.
AND of course no post would be complete with out...The cutest kids I've ever had! I am thankful for good kids, a bit crazy, but they are amazing!
I am thankful for the things they teach me and for the opportunities I have to teach them. Adam and I are in awe of how quickly they learn. Adam I am thankful for you too, You are a great blessing in my life, I don't know what I would do without you, be bored I guess!

home adjusting

Well we have been home for a few days, and I am still tired! American Idol doesn't help when I am trying to go to bed early...
Lucas had a doctor Well check yesterday he is 21.25lbs, (15%) he is 30.25 inches tall (25%) and his head is 70th %.... Lots of brains! He is doing great Dr said he is fabulous, and he even showed off for me... I told the dr that we had been working on Sign language with him and he asked how many signs Luke knew, I didn't know the number so I said well he knows... Milk, all done, Daddy, More...then I look at Lucas and as I am saying the signs Luke is doing the signs! I was a proud momma!~ Mostly cause I didn't really know he was taking to it that well! (Crescent it is working! I am so excited!)
It makes a difference too really he loves it also which helps, he is standing there screaming before I have no idea what he wants now he brings me his cup throws it at me and signs Milk! Much easier!
Well all is well, hopefully I will get some sleep tonight, Allie has been waking with growing pains! I have no pity since I never had growing pains...:O(

Easter...busy day...

The girls played at the park and filled up their socks with sand...can't get funner than that~

Well Easter didn't feel too Eastery this year, since we didn't make it to Church (9am, had to leave the house by 8:30, hit the snooze 2 too many times) And then Drove home 8 long hours...but there are a few pictures of the kids to share. I have tried downloading the pictures 3 times and the first two Lucas pulled the card out of the computer! Bad boy! 410 pictures can take a while to download...
We decided on our trip that our kids are Very well Traveled... Especially Allie! This girl has been places, most adults haven't traveled as much as she has...she used to love it, but has grown weary of the car traveling... she told us on the way home when asked if we should drive back down in August to see Aunt Amy's new baby that she "..would rather fly it is a lot faster you know!"
The kids were glad to be home, Allie was excited for her Big girl bed. Luke is playing with all his toys... but is having a hard time understanding why he can't just go out to play now...21 degrees is NO 54! And he is into even more things in the house, somehow he has decided he can do anything, he opens drawers now, he climbed up Allie dresser last night... He climbed up the table across to his chair and Into his chair...We are in so much trouble! He is digging in Adam's drawer as I type, No now he is trying to climb my side table...
Dora stickers, and watching Cars...

Short Photo shoot... Kids never hold still...
Lucas looks awesome!
Milan is the biggest ham~
My girl on the other hand refuses to look at the camera and be natural... she Plays it up... so I tell her just to laugh and I get this! Kid!

home again home again...

Well we are heading home today it seems... I am sad to go home, especially since it is going to be so nice here next week and at Buffalo... not so nice... what is new, we got more sun this week even being sick inside for 3 days that we have since November. Pretty sad!
Amy thanks a ton! It was 10x better than I said, I really enjoyed it, I was so glad to see the many thing I saw... and I guess the things I missed will just leave me good reason to Beg Adam to come back! I love you guys! It was lots of fun to be with you, and to have the kids play outside. Thank you Thank you!

The Capitol Building trip...

The Capital rotunda ceiling. Us on the tour.
out in front of the capital building.

I think this was my favorite... I really enjoyed the Lincoln memorial... I wish Allie could have seen it. She would have loved the stairs.

Mount Vernon

Update: Amy's cord works on our camera, YEAH! here are some of our pictures from today.
We went here today, it was quite beautiful...Washington knew how to live that is for sure. We hit just the right time we were only in line for about 20 minutes, and by the time we were up to the door the line was 1 hr long. + They don't let you take pictures inside but the colors are really pretty, except one bright green color. The kids are having fun today, the feel pretty good, now poor Munich has it bad. We went through Alexandria,Va Which is really pretty.

Capital Tour

We had our Capital Tour today, We went downtown and went into the Library of Congress, Then over to the Hart building to Senator Hatch's office, then we had lunch in the cafeteria there. Then we had the 2.5 hour tour, it was long, it was interesting in parts, but some of it was just waiting for other people to move it was PACKED. Under the Dome is probably the coolest. When we get pictures we will put them up it was cool...but we didn't really see much.
Then we walked down to the old post office building which we found out was closed so we kept walking down the Mall to the Washington Memorial then down to Lincoln, which was probably my favorite, we also saw the WWII Memorial and the Vietnam Memorial. It was a long day, it was a bit windy, and a bit cold but it was way warmer than at home... and I felt better today.
Lucas is still not feeling great, he is struggling, I feel so bad for him.
(he has a barkie cough, sore throat, had a good temp 103.5 at the highest, that crazy rash, tight breathing, a bit lethargic, very tired and sleepy. )
Who knows what tomorrow will bring, Hopefully we will just have more fun.

Sick+Vacation=SAD

Ok now it is my turn, I am so sick! Luke's rash is totally gone, but he has a bad cough and sore throat now, and so do I~Allie is starting to cough too...
Before we got really sick, we made it out to the Air and Space Museum. And we saw the Capital building, the Washington Memorial, and walked the National Mall, we rode the metro, which the kids loved. It was fun, and a nice day out.
I just didn't sleep, neither did Luke, Amy made me some Garlic Soup, Yuck, but I can breath again, it tasted good till I got to the bottom. Then I could breath and it tasted GARLIC...

Wish us luck...

Arlington Cemetery

We were going Nuts in the house so we were going to the National Mall but some dumb anti-war protest was going on... Ruin our plans! Anyway we went to Arlington Cemetery instead, it was a bit chilly but very neat, we saw The Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. That is us below. And Kennedy too...I want to go back and tour the Robert E. Lee Mansion. Very cool! PS. All the people are up there cause some famous people were visiting... Lucas and Allison Shepherd... OH haha actually it is cause they are changing the guard for the tomb. It is pretty amazing, how much goes into that one guard walking perfectly straight and perfectly perfect. I guess they are in training for 10 months to learn how to be perfect. They are inspected to have everything PERFECT. Amys pregnant belly...Just for you Melissa...Not the best picture I have a better one but it is trapped on my camera.

On the Road Rash...

Well here is my baby, I feel so bad for him... We took some pictures with Amy's Camera. It is the moving rash yesterday it was only on the back of his neck and a tiny bit on his head and his belly was dots today it is his whole face, and Nothing on his neck, today his arms and legs have it and his belly is worse.
At least he is happy.

Here is the lazy crowd~!

Can't have it all...

Well Lucas is SICK, he woke up today with a little rash which has spread and gotten pretty big. He has had a Fever 103.5 And of course our insurance doesn't work out of NY State... He is feeling better after meds. So I am hoping tomorrow is better and by Monday he is normal, I am going to be pretty sad if we miss DC...
But on a Happy note, it was So AMAZING today! We were outside most of the day, we washed our car, the kids played at the park, and in the water, and they Loved being outside! Luke especially...It had to be 65 today, it was hot in the sun, it was so lovely to just sit outside and have full sun on you and be WARM in a short sleeved shirt. I forgot what that felt like!
Anyway, I dont really know what we are going to do tomorrow but Keep your fingers crossed that Lucas feels better soon!
